    The Overlook in Charlton, MA is looking for a seasoned Chief People Officer to oversee “all people functions” across its multiple business entities in Central MA.     Key Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief People Officer will be responsible for directing all of the Team Member/People functions of the organization described below, in accordance with policies and best practices, ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations and rulings of regulatory agencies and consultative authorities.

     

    The Chief People Officer must possess excellent people skills, with an ability to partner and develop others. Must exhibit independent, strong, critical thinking and be accustomed to a fast paced ever- evolving environment, with the ability to function well under pressure. Must have the capacity and courage to evaluate and challenge situations and make sound decisions in a timely manner.

     

    Key Roles and Functions Include:

     

    Talent Leader:

    The Chief People Officer will help to shape a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability throughout and across all business entities. Must possess visible passion for creating an environment of continuous learning and professional development; Partner with executive leaders and managers to build a multi-year talent strategy to ensure The Overlook has the right talent to achieve both short-term and long-term goals; Develop succession planning for key leadership positions across the enterprise; Ensure all leaders understand their roles as talent generators - focus on the success of talent from recruitment, onboarding, leadership development and training, promoting, and Team Member retention through a purposeful and strategic use of powerful people analytics, metrics and benchmarking data that will better position the organization for the future.

     

    Compliance and Risk Management

    The Chief People Officer is responsible for managing compliance and proactively identify opportunities for risk reduction. Preempt and manage risk and identify secure feedback mechanisms and vulnerability assessment tools for early detection, risk mitigation and avoidance of litigation and sanctions. Oversee the Corporate Compliance hotline and promote a culture of compliance that rewards ethical behavior and encourages Team Members to speak up without fear of reprisal.. Must be highly knowledgeable of state and federal labor laws and employment policies and regulations.

     

    Strategic People Leadership:

    Highly skillful at Team Member relations management, the Chief People Officer will support and assist entity leaders in breaking down any silos and ensure thorough integration and collaboration of our 4 business entities and managed community in Worcester. Partner with executive leaders and managers to develop the people strategy, skills and training that is agile and flexible in supporting cooperation, teamwork and coaching that rallies the Team to be positive, have fun and build consensus. Serve as the strategic People leader on current and future trends in areas such as talent, culture, industry differentiators and external branding; Drive innovation in collaboration with the business entity leaders, throughout the organization.

     

    HR Operational Excellence:

    The Chief People Officer, in alignment with the CEO and Executive Team, will influence and drive major operational, strategic and visionary decisions of all Team Member/People programs affecting the organization. Must possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to The Overlook’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Guiding Principles and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to furthering The Overlook’s CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE movement. Responsible for implementation of quality processes and content for the People Division and in support of the operating entities in alignment with the business strategy to achieve goals and objectives; Focus on continuous improvement and organizational efficiencies with clear orientation towards the future of the Senior Living and industry best practices.

     

    Performance Management

    The Chief People Officer will support Team Members in driving a Resident/Patient/Client-centric approach in the workplace, leveraging HR, and management practices to positively impact Residents, Team Members and other stakeholders. At The Overlook, our Residents/Patients/Clients are #1 and our Team Members are #1A. Support and advocate for our Team Members, so that in turn, they can support and advocate for our Residents/Patients/Clients.

     

    Build high performance organizational capability through partnership with the business entity leaders on the talent management processes; Extensive experience with change management and transitioning of organizations--including partnerships, affiliations, consolidations/merger- acquisitions, organizational and reporting structures, as well as staffing requirements.

     

    Highly skilled at performance management, Team Member training and development, succession planning and retention. Manage and develop Team Member compensation and benefits, as well as meaningful reward and recognition programs, driving a pay-for-performance culture aligned with business objectives. Foster a culture of leader ownership and accountability for Team Members.

     

    Trusted Advisor:

    The Chief People Officer will serve as a thought leader and trusted counsel to the Masonic Health System/Overlook President and CEO—and other Executive Team members--to lead continuous and sustainable transformation across the organization. Provide thought leadership to the People organization and business leaders on talent strategy and design, organizational culture and leadership capabilities. Authentically model and champion The Overlook’s leadership attributes, and ensure focus and progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred
    • Proven operational experience in management and staff supervision: ideally has 10 years of management experience with a track record of increasing responsibility and has strong generalist human resource experience and practice at the senior leadership level
    • 3+ years of executive experience
    • SHRM or HRCI certifications preferred Health care and/or Senior living experience a plus
