  • Responsibilities

    The Director of Facilities will be responsible for providing overall direction for the design, planning, and maintenance of company facilities and property, and developing budgets and long-range campus plans based on future needs. This person will oversee the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. Monitor budgets, recommends contracts for executive approval and oversee contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. This person will ensure building operations and systems comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    Management:

    • Project Management including oversight, bidding/quote procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and scope of work development for Capital Projects on the Overlook Campus.
    • Facilitate and maintain Capital Equipment Inventory and preventative maintenance schedules for Capital Equipment
    • Manage relationships and contracts with all Building and Grounds related Vendors and Subcontractors.
    • Ensure all administrative duties are completed within the department including entry of work orders in to the system, assigned and completed

    Leadership:

     

    • Motivate and inspire Team Members to go the extra mile in serving Residents while creating a culture of excellence, urgency and strong core values.
    • Mentor and develop Team Members professionally through ongoing training and staff development programs, including identifying and addressing individual development needs.

    Safety:

     

    • Participate in the execution of emergency management and contingency plans and conducts Campus safety and security training for Team Members and Residents.  Participates in all safety and disaster preparedness.
    • Conduct semi-annual testing of Emergency Plan in conjunction with MassMAP and local and state public safety agencies. 
    • Represent The Overlook on facility, local and regional safety committees including MassMAP.

    Financial Management:

     

    • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets, minimize use of contractors and ensure competitive costs for services per negotiated contracts.
    • Evaluate opportunities for energy and utility conservation efforts and provide effective management of Campus energy consumption.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience at the management level in facilities, plant, marine or a similar facilities, maintenance, property management, and/or engineering discipline. Experience with health, safety and security issues in facilities operations.
    • Experience in Senior Living or Healthcare related operations is a plus.
    • S. degree, preferably related to plant, facilities or marine engineering. Advanced degree preferred but not required with experience
    • Ability to read and write English proficiently
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Previous experience in a health care setting preferred
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
