  • Responsibilities

    This is a 32 hour per week position.


    Assist the Payroll Manager with administration and compliance of time & attendance and payroll functions. Inputs payroll data and retrieves time records, monitors time and attendance records, sets up deduction and withholding records, transfers, etc. in the payroll system to accurately process payrolls. Assist with other clerical and administrative responsibilities as needed.

    • Assist with weekly payrolls processing with employee records to include, vacation, sick time, hours worked, leaves of absence, benefits withholdings and deductions.
    • Accurately input into payroll system new employee data, transfers, changes, etc.
    • Ensure the integrity of all data entered into the payroll system and subsequent changes to employee information (rate, department, location changes).
    • Reviews Punch Exception and Missed Punch Reports notifying supervisors to correct errors in order to process payroll timely.
    • Prepare and process the payrolls for supervisor review, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Ensure proper documentation of all payroll transactions.
    • Assist staff in understanding pay, deductions and changes.
    • Assist with Verifications of Employment and authorized payroll-related information requests.
    • Assist with set up, review and approval of bonus/supplemental payrolls.
    • Assist Payroll Manager with trouble-shooting payroll-related issues, bringing them to appropriate resolution and document same for file.
    • Assist with payroll/compliance related auditing and monitoring projects on a regular and adhoc basis as directed.
    • Create payroll and benefits-related reports within payroll and HRIS systems.
    • Provide as needed backup support to Payroll Manager for processing any payrolls required.
    • Assist with miscellaneous clerical and administrative functions as requested. 


    • 1-3 years’ experience in a payroll or accounting environment preferred.
    • Ability to utilize a keyboard to enter, retrieve and manipulate data is required.
    • Intermediate level of word processing (Microsoft Word preferred) advanced spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel preferred) skills are required.
    • Knowledge of automated payroll software programs, Paylocity and Smartlinx preferred.
    • High school education or an equivalent. Associate degree preferred
    • Requires the ability to mentally attend to and visually concentrate on a substantial amount of detail work.
    • Proven ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality with respect to employee and company records.
    • Highly organized and possessing strong clerical and administrative skills.
    • Strong follow up and time management skills.
