Responsibilities

Activities Assistant, 24 hours per week, Fieldstone

 

To provide activities that include, but are not limited to, physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual / educational and social interests.  It is also the responsibility of the activity assistant to invite and encourage residents to participate in group activities offered in the facility.

 

  • To follow the daily activity calendar events scheduled for the assisted living memory care unit.
  • To invite and / or encourage residents to participate in daily activities.
  • To provide alternatives to those residents not wishing to participate in the group activities through 1:1 programs.
  • Facilitate groups with motivation and creativity so that residents are participating in functional and worthwhile programs.
  • Prepare for the daily events / activities and bring all needed materials to the activity (i.e. scissors, glue, paper, etc.)
  • Assist with planning development of the monthly activity calendar.
  • Assist with serving meals.
  • Assist with and attend special events/programs.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Nurses Aide or Home Health Aide
  • Some experience and understanding of the elderly population, especially memory impaired.
  • Experience leading activities desired
